The In/Out service tracking of SAR assets allows assets to be marked in and out of active duty based on the dates provided. This can be used both for seasonal assets and for maintenance/overhaul reasons.

Whenever a asset is marked out of service an Expected In-Service date must also be supplied. This is an estimate for when the asset should return to active duty. When the asset is actually marked back in-service and returns to active duty, this date is reset back to a blank (null) value.

Assets marked out of service that are still out of service past their expected in-service date will be flagged as "late return to service" in all reports.
