Quinte Search and Rescue Joined Santa

Friday November 14, 2008 was Bellevilles eighth annual night time Santa Clause Parade and Quinte Rescues first. This great annual tradition for families in the Quinte Region was truly blessed by Mother Nature. The mild temperatures allowed thousands of parade goers to line the route and witness the magic of thousands of lights, and great holiday tunes.

The floats assemble on the grounds of Quinte Secondary School and the parade began at 18:30hrs sharp. QSAR 2 (our jet boat) was decorated for Christmas and drawn by Ray LaRues rescue truck. Volunteers from Quinte Search and Rescue walked along side handing out candies to the children lining the route.

We can not thank Wayne Cruwys for volunteering to wear "Pukta the Polar Bear" mascot costume provided by the CCGA. It was an amazing success. The kids just love him. It was incredible to watch their faces light up when they saw Pukta.
