Mariners Service at St. Pauls Anglican Church

Sunday March 4th, 2012

Members of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary attended this inspirational service in Point Edward Ontario (adjacent to Sarnia).

The service was also attended by CCG representatives as well as the Ontario Provincial Police and the Sea Cadets.  The cadets presented the colours.

The highlight of the occasion was the recognition of the Canadian Coast Guards 50th Anniversary.  Brian Leblanc spoke of CCGs accomplishments over the past 50 years.

Below is an excerpt from the service for your consideration

The Mariners Psalm

The Lord is my pilot, I shall not drift,
He leadeth me across the deep waters,
He steereth me in the deep channels.  He keepeth my Log.
He guideth me by the Star of his Holiness
For his Names sake.

Yea, though I shall sail amid the thunders
And tempests of life,
I shall dread no danger
For thou art with me
Thy love and Thy care, they shelter me.

Though prepared a harbour before me
In the homeland for eternity.
Thou anointed the waves with oit; my ship runneth calmly.
Surely sunlight and starlight shall favour me on the voyage I take;
and I will rest in the Port of my God, forever.

Based on Ps.23
