To: All Members

This note is to advise you that at the Training Committee meeting in Feb 2009 it was agreed that having participated in any of the following activities during the previous five years would qualify a member to retain their membership. Effective immediately the activities are as follows.

Retention of SAR Crew Membership
Complete 1 of the following every 5 years:
SAR Course or
SAR Operations Course or
SAR OCC Course or
SAR Instructors Course or
Instructing any Regional Training Course or
Participation in ISAR or
Participation in District or Regional SAR Competition or
CCG RHIOT Course or
SVOP/MED A3 course or
Small Craft Training Course
And evaluated by a SAREX or RIDECHECK

We have set an objective to have all of our members certified so that they meet the requirements for membership by the end of 2010.

Each of us is ultimately responsible for ensuring that all of our qualifications are current. If you have qualifications that have expired you should be contacting your unit leader and or your DTC to ensure that the necessary training is provided.

With everyone pulling together we can make this happen.

I would ask that Unit Leaders and / or Directors who have members who do not have access to email are made aware of these requirements.

Take Care
