The SAR Incident Report is designed to capture all pertinent information about Search and Rescue (SAR) Missions.

Collecting information on a SAR incident is an important part of a SAR Mission. The information collected by the resource is fed into a computer system called SISAR at JRCC Victoria and other RCC´s and MRSC´s. Such information will enable us to have better
knowledge as to the cause of the incident, and the clients themselves. This information is also used in developing Boating Safety programs in which the CGA is becoming more and more involved.

The SAR incident/mission report form collects all data relating to a SAR mission including units/vessels involved, their crews, causes, outcome, and events. The accuracy of invformation presented is paramount as this is a legal record of the incident and may be called upon as evidence in certain circumstances.

Once the form as been completed it is submitted and then proceeds through an authorization process. Once submitted only administrators can edit the form unless it is rejected during the authorization process. Therefore, please ensure all information on the form is complete and accurate before checking off the mark complete box.

Review the following topics for information pretaining to how to fill out the various fields on the form.
