Positions refer to the positions held by personnel within the unit and/or organization. They can be used to indicate rank or job function and/or assigned tasks.

A person may have any number of positions.

Those who can manage a unit (as defined by system security) may assign positions to the personnel for that unit.

Positions have no direct relationship to training, certifications, or any other record in the system. Thus, they should only be used to indicate job function and/or rank and not to specify training levels and/or maintain a list of certifications.

Reports of personnel by position and counts by positions are available throughout the system.
