Activity Number Specification

Activities reports are associated with a reference code called the Activity number. There as several options associated with how this reference is assigned.

First, it can be required or optional and second it can be generated automatically by the system, manually entered by the user completing the report, or match an authorized request.

Several Examples

1) An activity report can only be processed once an associated request has been approved and the two should be linked by their reference number:

Set the number to be Required and have the number Match the associated request type. This will ensure that activities of this type may only be reported when they can be tied to a matching and approved request.

2) An activity report might have a number but if there isnt one the system should automatically generate one.

Set the number to be Optional and have the number Generated Automatically. In this case the system will always create a number, but the user can edit the number and change it to the existing number (if there is one)
