Equipment types define the general classes of equipment that will contain the specified pieces of equipment to be attached to personnel and/or assets.

Think carefully when creating equipment types - in general the fewer the better whenever creating something like a category - avoid redundancy and ensure each type is necessary. It is much easier to create extra types later rather then needing to reorganize everything.
