Activity number can take three forms:

• Auto-generated where the system creates a number - in which case there is no field for user input or selection.
• User Defined where a blank field is provided and you can enter any number you would like
• Request Approval Number where you must choose a request approval number, thus linking the activity to a specific request. A drop down list is provided.

Administrators may also choose to make the number for a specific type of activity either required or optional. In the case of a required number where it must match an approved request - if there is no approved request then the activity report will not be able to be submitted.
